hi i read it on a website that u culd rub milk on to an area wich has spots or acne. Is this true?If not can u plz give me sum idea of wot to use to get rid of these spots as they really get to me and depress me a bit. Thankz
Good question! There are so many reccomended treatments for spots out there that it can be hard to know where to start. Although there is a home remedy I've heard of which involves mixing milk with lime juice and glycerine -I don't know if it actually works.
The best way to treat spots is firstly to make sure you keep your face clean and fresh and always remove any make up before you go to bed. And don't squeeze your spots!
For a quick fix to get rid of the odd rogue spot then try drying the blemish out by rubbing it with a bar of soap or applying a dab of toothpaste and leaving it overnight.
For really bad outbreaks or acne you can apply benzoyl peroxide, glycolic acid, or salicylic acid over your entire face once a day- your GP will also be able to give you some advice if your spots are a real big problem.
Everyone has spots at some point in their lives and unfortunately there is no sure fire way to get rid of them.
The best way to prevent spots is by keeping your skin clean and oil free. Also try to avoid touching the face too much as this spreads bacteria.
As Yin said there are lots of different treatments that are rumoured to work but the harsh truth is none of them are proven to work. My advice is invest in some good cover-up make up and just ride out your spot outbreak.
