Is There More To It?

John Todd writes:

This might sound weird but here goes. While having sex my wife's body often involuntarily rejects my advances. I am always gentle and caring of her needs but sometimes her thighs and hips push me away. When I question her about this she says it's fine, just carry on. I know that her doctor has also commented to her during a smear test of her inclination to "clam up". This sensation sometimes spoils our lovemaking. I genuinely worry that my wife may have had some bad experience in the past that now manifests itself in this manner. I find it impossible to probe the subject too deeply because I fear to do so would risk everything good we do have. However, I do sometimes feel unwanted or rejected by this and it upsets me not to be able to deal with the matter. Should I talk to our G.P.? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

While a GP can not talk to you about another patient they can offer general advice.

It may be a good idea to talk to them about this.

Also talk to your wife again, if she knows how worried you are she will reassure you.

Yang's Answer

I understand your worries but if you're wife has told you she is ok then take her word for it

Some people may be embarrased about sex but as long as you are both able to carry on there should be no problem.
