Chris Tarrant's 1m show

1 month ago 10th Oct 13:00

Chris Tarrant has signed a £1 million deal to host a new game show for ITV.

The 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?' presenter - who has been hosting the quiz programme for the past ten years - will now front the show's successor 'The Colour Of Money'.

The programme will see contestants choose 10 out of 20 coloured cash machines which all contain an amount of money between £1,000 and £20,000. As the clock ticks, the money they can win increases by £1,000.

If the contestants hold their nerve and don't rush the game, they can end up with "life changing sums" of money, but if they try to withdraw a large amount in one go, they leave with nothing.

It's a simple format and creates much tension. It seems so easy, but our coloured cash machines prove there's not always a pot of gold at the end of every rainbow.

Chris, 61, said: "It's a simple format and creates much tension. It seems so easy, but our coloured cash machines prove there's not always a pot of gold at the end of every rainbow."

ITV spokesperson Paula Warwick added: "He is the master of tension and suspense and is the perfect choice for this new series."
