A photograph of Britain's Queen Elizabeth dressed casually in a pair of flared jeans is set to go on sale.
The picture - which is owned by a private collector and valued at just £60 - is one of a series of previously unseen photographs of members of the royal family which are being auctioned at Reemans Dansie in Colchester on Monday (24.11.08).
The picture is believed to have been taken while the queen was on a cruise around the Western Isles of Scotland with her family during the 1970s.
In it, the monarch teams the trousers with an orange-and-white jacket and a wide-rimmed hat. The Royal Yacht Britannia can be seen moored in the background.
Philip is seen sitting in a line of 10 people, who are each perching on the lap of the person behind them
Auctioneer James Gritner said: "It's an absolutely charming photograph which has captured the queen in a totally carefree moment."
Other pictures up for sale come from a collection held by the late Sidney Cumper, who worked as a footman and page to Queen Mary. One shows the young Princess Elizabeth, aged four or five, in a sledge on a snow-covered hill.
In another picture Elizabeth, dressed in a white-knitted hat and snow boots, is seen pelting her nanny, Margaret McDonald, with snowballs.
