Britain's Princess Margaret was often rude to the Queen Mother.
The princess lived alone with her mother from 1952 to 1960 and often mocked her dress sense, objected to TV programmes and told her off for spending too long drinking.
The revelations are made in a new book about Margaret's husband, Lord Snowdon, which says she was "not always popular" with royal staff over her "frequent rudeness" to her mother.
The book, written by Anne De Courcy, says Margaret would often ask her mother, "Why do you dress in those ridiculous clothes?"

The book adds: "Margaret became furious that drinks before lunch would sometimes go on for an hour, so that lunch would not be served until two. 'Oh for goodness sake Mum, let's go in.' she would complain. 'We can't go on like this.'
"Princess Margaret would simply switch the television to another channel if she did not like what the Queen Mother was watching, regardless of the latter's expostulations.
"Yet the Queen Mother never lost her tempter."
