Chas and Dave's royal fan

Britain's late Princess Margaret was a huge fan of Chas and Dave.

The royal - who passed away in 2002 aged 71 - liked the cockney musical duo so much she even invited them to dinner.

Chas Hodges, who formed the successful artistic partnership with David Peacock, told Britain's Daily Express newspaper: "Princess Margaret was a big Chas and Dave fan.
"She invited us to dinner and we sat either side of her - I was in awe.
"She loved the Diddlum song."

The princess - the younger sister of Queen Elizabeth - was known for socialising in celebrity circles and her fun-loving nature. Last September, her ex-husband, society photographer Lord Snowdon, decided to include a picture of Margaret posing in a bath wearing nothing but a tiara in a retrospective of his work.

Snowdon's barefoot can be seen reflected in the mirror behind the bath in the corner of the intimate photograph.

Queen Elizabeth, the older sister of Margaret, was thought to be unimpressed with Snowdon's decision to publicly display the photograph.

The 77-year-old revealed he took the picture in 1962, two years into their marriage, just before they went out for a "posh dinner".
