Thailand's Princess Galyani Vadhana's ashes will be taken to their final resting place today (19.11.08).
The royal, who died aged 84 in January, has been remembered with three days of national mourning which will culminate with a procession today.
A meritmaking ceremony, attended by the princess' brother King Bhumibol Adulyadej and his wife Queen Sirikit, was held at the Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall in the grounds of the Grand Palace on Monday night (17.11.08).
Other members of the royal family present included Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn, Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn and Princess Chulabhorn Valayalaksana.
We are applying the finishing touches to the 84 varieties of trees and flowers that will complete the landscaping. Most of them are blue, the princess's favourite colour.
The royal family donated robes and fans which featured the princess' emblem to the monks who conducted the ceremony.
Another meritmaking ceremony took place yesterday morning (18.11.08). This was followed by a royal procession which took the urn containing the late princess' ashes to the Grand Palace's Chakri Maha Prasat Throne Hall, where it was enshrined.
The ashes will be moved from the Temple of the Emerald Buddha to Rajabopit Temple's Rangsi Vadhana Memorial in Bangkok, where they will be laid to rest today.
