Britain's Princess Anne has met brave military staff in New Zealand.

The princess - who is known for being one of the busiest members of the royal family - visited Burnham Military Camp on Monday (17.11.08) to inspect members of the Royal New Zealand Corps of Signals and the Royal New Zealand Nursing Corps.

The royal - who was in the country to represent the Duke of Edinburgh at the 23rd Commonwealth Agricultural Conference in Christchurch - holds the rank of Honorary Colonel of both corps.

Since arriving on Friday (14.11.08), Anne has met Governor-General Anand Satyanand and enjoyed the Royal New Zealand Show at the Canterbury Agricultural Park.

During the show, officials were keen to ensure the royal kept mainly adult company after a letter her brother, Prince Charles, wrote following his 1981 tour of the country was made public.

In the note, the prince claimed he was "going demented" as a result of New Zealand children continually asking him "nonsensical rubbish" about what it is like being a prince during his stay.

The princess went on to attend a Meet the Volunteers morning tea with Save the Children New Zealand, visit a Life Education Trust mobile classroom and opened a nature centre at Willowbank Wildlife Reserve.
