4 months ago 10th Jul 14:00

Jordan's King Abdullah II and Queen Rania are visiting America.

The royal couple commenced their visit yesterday (09.07.08) and are expected to stay in the United States for several days during the private trip.

The monarch is set to participate in the high-profile Allen and Co conference in Idaho, an annual event named after its founders, an investment bank.

King Abdullah is also set to speak at the annual meeting of Colorado's Aspen Institute, delivering a speech about the latest developments in the Middle East.

We were informed by the Jordanians that the visit was postponed. No new date has been set and we don't know the reasons.

Meanwhile, the King has delayed a planned visit to Iraq.

No reasons for the delay have been given and no new date has been set.

Abdullah was due to be the first Arabic head of state to travel to the country since war broke out in 2003.
