Mike Skinner may reform The Streets when he is "40 and broke".
The band's frontman has vowed to quit once they release their fifth album, and insists that, though he won't rule out continuing after then, it is unlikely.
Explaining the reason for the band's planned end, he told NME magazine: "The next album is the last album. I did a five-album deal and I don't think it would be right to be making Streets albums after that.
"I always envisaged them as a box-set and I've got a vision for each of the albums. The next one will bring it back to the start in a way.
"Maybe when I'm 40 and broke I might come back, but that all feels a bit pants."
The 'Dry Your Eyes' singer also admitted he already has an idea how the final album will sound.
He added: "It will be a lot more futuristic in terms of production but a lot more train-of-thought."
