Mike Skinner's hardcore problem

Mike Skinner is having problems with his new album.

The Streets star says he is having difficulty working out the track listing for 'Everything is Borrowed' because one of the tracks is so fast.

Posting on his MySpace blog, he said: "I've been listening to my album over and over and over trying to decide which song should go where. There's this really fast one. I mean really fast. I'm rapping at about 200 miles an hour, like a happy hardcore MC. You have to be there really.

"Sometimes I think it should go at the beginning like 'Bang! Here I am - and I'm rapping at 200 miles an hour', but then I feel like it needs to go slap bang in the middle with the other songs of a spiritual leaning. This is because even though I'm rapping at the speed of a happy hardcore MC, I'm also talking about something quite eco, green, right on if you get me."

Mike is due to fly to America next week to finish work on the album - and says he is already preparing his body for the trip.

He added: "I decided to set my watch to LA time. I fly out on Tuesday, I think, and mastering Wednesday but this isn't gonna be like a few interviews and a drunken gig.... this is real work.

"So I'm going to live my life as if I were on LA time for the next 3 days or so. That way, by the time I get out there i will not be getting tired at 4 in the afternoon - this will be the exact moment we will be mastering my happy hardcore MCing track (if it ends up in the middle of the album) and you don't want track six to be f****d because I was tired, right?"
