Donatella Versace described her label’s new look recently.
The flamboyant designer wanted her latest collection to be more sophisticated, natural but still sexy.
She said;” Women want to be beautiful, sensual, glamorous- but not overtly sexy.”
I like women who don’t look like they try too hard. Looking natural in clothes, in make-up- it’s just a look.”
The latest look is a radical departure from the overt sexuality of the brand in the early 1990’s when her late brother Gianni was creative director.
When Donatella took over after his untimely death she admitted that she felt ‘ tortured’ and under pressure as she had so much to live up to.
The new softer collection could not be more different from Gianni’s fashion heritage.
