Halston has appointed a new creative director.
Italian designer Marco Zanini - the head designer of womenswear, ready-to-wear and haute couture at Versace will oversee the revival of the classic US label.
Halston was synonymous with luxury in its seventies hey day and was worn by the rich & famous including Marianne Faithful, Jackie Kennedy, Liza Minnelli and Bianca Jagger.
Movie mogul Harvey Weinstein bought the label last year and has already recruited Hollywood stylist Rachel Zoe and Jimmy Choo owner Tamara Mellon to his creative team.
Zanini tells WWD:" When I first got called, I almost fell out of my chair. I didn't expect to be offered such a good position from such an iconic and legendary name."
"Halston, for me and for so many people in fashion, has always been a reference. The name is so refined to me. "
"It was a lifestyle, and the whole spectrum of his name means so much to me. It's a dream come true."
