Katie and Tom Vs The Beckhams in Giorgio Armani Fashion Showdown

Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise went head to head with David and Victoria Beckham for the most fashionable couple title as they all stepped out in Giorgio Armani at this weekend's Costume Institute Gala.

Both couples attended the event at the Metropolitan Museum of Art as special guests of Giorgio Armani and Katie and Victoria wore totally contrasting creations by the legendary designer.

Katie chose a vintage red bustier dress from 1993 with bead detail and a vulumptious full length skirt. The bold look was set off with a pair of shocking electric blue shoes.

Victoria opted for a slinky vamp look with a revealing white lace coat dress from 1989. A slit up to the hip showed off a tanned leg and strappy silver shoes.

David and Tom also hit the red carpet in different suits. David went for a classic black tie look while Tom chose a more traditional waistcoat with white shirt and white silk tie.
