Just because you reach a certain age doesn't mean that you have to start dressing like a grandmother. Loads of celebrities get better looking with age, and that doesn't just apply to the men (Brad Pitt and George Clooney anyone?!) as more and more females are looking fabulous over the age of 40.
We here at FemaleFirst have decided to celebrate all the mature ladies out there, who all have a stunning sense of style that leaves us green with envy. Today we look at the Queen of reinvention, Madonna.
Whatever you may think about Madonna as a person, there is no doubt that she knows how to put on a show, be it personal or professional.
In the 80s she made us all want to wear lace gloves and punk lipstick. In the 90s her cowboy and goth phase were a hot topic around school yard and in the 00s, she's so far experimented with being a bit of a dominatrix and chanelling a 1970s disco look.
In truth, Madonna has done it all, and if she hasn't done it yet then it's only a matter of time before she does.
Her iconic cone bra she wore on stage designed by John Galliano and Jean-Paul Gaultier made headlines around the world, as did her latex leggings and clingy leotard she wore to promote her 2005 album 'Confessions on a Dance Floor.'
Madonna's a chameleon of the modern age, effortlessly blending to what the public desire off her. Off stage and behind the scenes Madonna is a strong advocate of healthy living and exercise, which is why at 50 she has become renowned for her fit and toned body.
Her funky and often outlandish style have also hit the headlines over the years, so with this in mind we take a look at some of Madonna's fashion looks...
Only a woman with an ample amount of confidence could get away with this look. To be fair, this is one of Madonna's tour outfits for Sticky and Sweet, but we have to give her the thumbs up for the fringing detail on her skirt, as that's set to be massive next Spring.
Working the sports luxe trend a full year before it became fashionable, Madonna looks fun and cute in these heart sunnies. She does look a little bit like she's trying to recapture her youth here, but we won't hold it against her seeing as it's a tour outfit!
Madonna looks stunning in this sequined flapper style dress for the Cannes film festival. Elegant and sophisticated, she oozes class for this event and most of her is covered up too. She does flash her ample cleavage though- well if you've got it, flaunt it!
Causing controversy with her outfit choice yet again, the star wears some funky shoes with a heel shaped like a gun. The demure black outfit is classic, but it's those shoes who've got the fashion world in a tizz.
Is it wrong to be a little bit afraid of Madonna in this picture?! This is the star experimenting with a bit of a dominatrix look for her collaboration with Justin Timberlake. Again, she's got the body, why not flaunt it?!
