We can't escape the fact that money is a bit tighter for most of us now, but that is no excuse to cut back on you're beauty essentials. There are plenty of cheaper products out there for all you make up junkies it's just knowing where to find them.
America got in on the act of cheap make up before us and the Yanks have their own amazing discount cosmetics range, ELF (Eyes Lips Face). Absolutely everything costs just £1.50. Bronzer, £1.50. Plumping lip gloss, £1.50. False eye lashes £1.50. Perfect for when you want to experiment with a new look, you can afford to buy several colours and work out which look suits you best!
We all know that Primark is the first port of call for budget fashion but did you know the store also has its own make up range, Opia. With glitter eyeliner, pencil eyeliners and essential eyelash curlers, costing just £1 you really can't go wrong!
And the products aren't half bad either. The glitter eyeliner comes in a variety of colours, why not buy one of each, and the glitter comes out quite sparingly so you won't look like a four year old let loose with the art kit.
Primark also have their own We Love Fruit toiletries range. body butters and exfoliaters will, again, only set you back £1. The body butter smells lush and will leave your skin super soft.
When you're next in the supermarket forget potatoes and pasta and instead head to the cosmetics aisle. Most supermarkets now have their own make up range, at affordable prices. Asda's George range is great value, quick dry nail varnish is just £1.50, you would expect to pay about three times that much with other brands!
Asda also have a great selection of lip glosses for just £2.50. SLip them in your trolley to make your weekly food shop much more enjoyable!
George's version of YSL's Touch Eclat will set you back £3. That's right just £3, you could get five for the price of YSL's!
If we're going to be coating our faces in all this new make up it would be good to give it a break once in a while and instead slap on a face make to rehydrate the skin.
Montagne Jeunesse do a great range of facemasks for pampering yourself with, for just 99p.
Their Chocolate Masque smells good enough to eat and will unblock pores and moisturise your skin. or if you fancy softer skin try the Red Hot Earth Sauna Masque which heats on contact with skin and leaves your skin looking softer and more radiant.
So there you go, don't let the credit crunch hit your looks as well as your purse. Pick up these cheaper alternatives and save your money for something more expensive...like petrol!
