Things between Ric and Matilda continue to stagnate, and Matilda can't stand it anymore. Ric for his part is avoiding a deep and meaningful like the plague, still hoping they can find a way to get back together and knowing where such a conversation will inevitably lead.
But Matilda forces it, and Ric can only keep running so long. It's a sad moment for both of them; they're still in love, but their relationship has finally come to the end, and even Ric knows it's for the best. Still, there’s plenty of drama to take Matilda’s mind off the break-up.
Jack is back in the Bay and, with Sam and Rory safely out of reach as they visit family in the city, happy to enjoy a hassle-free reunion with his ex.
Unfortunately, just this brief exchange of pleasantries is enough to see Martha struggling with old insecurities once again, making her vulnerable to one of the Surf Club’s customers – and leaving Mattie and Luc to pick up the pieces.

Meanwhile, Miles swallows his pride and takes Sally up on her offer of clean clothes and the use of the caravan park showers, and is delighted when she goes one step further by handing over the keys to one of the vans.
While Colleen may initially be less than impressed by her new non-paying neighbour, she soon changes her mind when the mystery newcomer embarks on a radical transformation and sets about repaying his debts through hard graft.
