Advert's Only Channel

First there were terrestrial channels BBC1 ITV, then came BBC2 Channel4 then 5 then Satellite with its dedicated channels bringing with it dedicated programming covering Reality TV, Travel and many more.

We all complain about the adverts spoiling the programmes but now make way for the world's first TV channel dedicated purely to adverts soon to be set up on digital satellite TV in the UK. Adverts followed by adverts followed by more adverts

The Advert Channel promises the best of current adverts, as well as samples from the last four decades. Viewers will be able to take part in gameshows and phone-ins relating to TV adverts. The channel - complete with its own ads - airs from 6 September.

Its founders declare that there is a big public appetite for ads, with 4,000 downloaded from the internet every day.

Co-founder Chelsey Baker said some viewers find adverts more interesting than TV programmes.

We watch hours and hours of adverts as a nation and compared to what they used to be, adverts are now something of an art form," Ms Baker said. Adverts are absolutely infectious and until now there's never been a home for anybody to watch them, she said.
