A bank thief tricked people into acting as his decoys with an internet advert.
The thief posted an ad on US website craigslist.org offering $28.50 an hour to anyone who wore a blue long-sleeved shirt, yellow safety vest, eye protection, ventilator mask and waited near a bank on a certain morning.
A number of people turned up in the outfit in Washington, and the thief -dressed in similar clothes - sprayed an armoured truck guard with pepper spray and made off with his cash delivery.
Mike Stevenson, 30, was one of the people who gathered in the clothes specified by the advert. He said: "We started wondering if guys were going to show up and shoot paint balls at us."
We started wondering if guys were going to show up and shoot paint balls at us.
The thief is still at large.
