Snake attack

1 month ago 11th Oct 13:15

A German zoo owner was nearly swallowed whole by a giant snake.

Renate Klosse was cleaning out the Tiger python's cage when the deadly creature opened its jaws and took nearly the woman's entire head in its mouth.

The animal expert instinctively knew to dig her thumbs into the 12ft long reptile's jawbone so it would release its grip.

Fellow zoo workers then sprayed the snake - affectionately known as Andrea - with water to throw off its sense of smell and disorientate it.

She feared that with a few more gulps her head would be inside.

Renate went to hospital for bites caused by the python's 70 sharp teeth. She was also treated for shock.

A police spokesman said: "She feared that with a few more gulps her head would be inside."
